CT Scan (Initiative)
Lung cancer is now the UK's most deadly form of cancer. The main reason being because of how hard it is to detect: 75% of cases are found once it has already progressed to stage III or IV.
But a recent NHS study revealed that early screening with CT scans could reduce the mortality rate by detecting 70% of cases at stage I or II, when it is still operable.
We want to raise awareness of this 'new news', and lobby for the introduction of a national screening programme, like with breast and prostate cancer.
